Psychotherapist Lisa Gallagher

“It is my belief that grief is love looking for a home. Anxiety is prompting us to take action. Loss tells us what we need. Depression notes something is missing in our lives. If we can pay attention to these messages, it shows us what to seek going forward. ”

My name is Lisa Gallagher and I am an accredited counsellor and psychotherapist, working with individual adults, teens and couples. I am passionate about the well-being of others and have always believed in the resilience of the human spirit. I work from an integrative perspective which means I fit the therapy to the needs of the individual while respecting their perspectives and values. I hold a BA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, along with a Master’s Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy for Children and Adolescents. I believe that most individuals can heal, grow and find resources within, in a supportive and non-judgemental environment. I will often work with you in exploring issues from the past and how they are affecting you in the present.

I have worked with many people experiencing depression, grief and trauma, which have become areas of special interest to me. Helping people reconnect to their authentic self and inner strength is my aim. I feel honoured to sit with people’s stories, often sharing intense emotional experiences and to help them feel less alone and overwhelmed by their pain.

It is my belief that grief is love looking for a home. Anxiety is prompting us to take action. Loss tells us what we need. Depression notes something is missing in our lives. If we can pay attention to these messages, it shows us what to seek going forward. Through creating consciousness, safety in our bodies, learning new skills and being compassionately witnessed, we can heal.
