Biography of Approach

I have a passion for helping those who are struggling with their mental well-being. Sometimes life can be overwhelming, we all need a helping hand or listening ear from time to time.

I work from the belief that each client has the capacity and drive for growth and self-actualisation. I allow clients the freedom to take control in sessions, facilitating a space in which I aim to have respect, dignity, understanding and confidentiality as foundational to my practice.

Feeling comfortable with your therapist is important, the aim is for each client to feel as though they have a non-judgemental space where they feel heard and safe.

I am trained in Person-Centred Psychotherapy and specialise in Creative Psychotherapy. I will listen to your experiences, help you explore your emotions behind a narrative, support you to come to your own conclusions and assist you in growing your independence.

The use of creativity in psychotherapy offers you the opportunity to visualise your thoughts and feelings. The use of colours, tones of music and movement can be a powerful way to connect to your emotions and can act as a prompt for important self-reflection. It also acts as an alternative way of exploring something that may be too difficult to verbalise.

Creative Psychotherapy includes, but is not limited to, drawing, creative writing, music and drama. There is no pressure or expectation for any client to be creative. If you prefer solely Talking Therapy, that is completely okay! Therapy is whatever you are comfortable with.

I hope to assist you in self-growth, self-compassion, help you manage stressors and anxiety and, ultimately, help you live your life authentically.
