I have nearly ten years of experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist and am an accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have been working in mental health services for over 20 years and can bring compassion and understanding to help you explore the challenges of being human.

I graduated from the Cork Counselling Centre Training Institute in 2014 and have continued to develop myself in various counselling and psychotherapeutic approaches.

As a proud LGBTQI+ ally, I enjoy supporting people to explore and support emerging and changing identities.

I have worked in student counselling services, Pieta House and in a self-employed capacity, collaborating with local charities and seeing private clients.

Most recently, I have completed a diploma in trauma psychotherapies and have a variety of methods to help clients work through the impact of traumatic and overwhelming experiences in their lives, paying particular attention to the sensations in the body and nervous system. Using education about the mind, body and nervous system and creative techniques, we can work together to help you find not just relief but resolution from your struggles.

I believe it is important to allow people time and to offer support to explore how they see their problems and the impact of these in their lives. From this place of real awareness, I believe we then start to change the way we view the world and ourselves in it and from this new awareness, new possibilities emerge.

With support to learn new skills, education around survival strategies and a genuinely curious and creative therapeutic relationship, I see people increase their self-knowledge and embrace change.

Approach: My primary training is in person-centred therapy. Further training has allowed me to broaden my approach to combine trauma-informed psychotherapies and a range of skills to meet the many and varied needs of my clients.

Expertise: I aim to support clients with a compassionate, educative and genuinely curious approach. I will assist each person to become an expert in themselves, to understand their difficulties and embed new ways of managing them into their lives.
